Caroline Kent
How Objects Move Through Walls

kent kent kentkentkent
Large-scale paintings, a wall-based installation, and several sculptures by the Chicago-based artist. The relationship between language, translation, and abstraction has been a driving force in Caroline Kent’s artistic practice over the last decade. For the artist, building a visual language of abstraction is one of the frameworks for pursuing respective lines of inquiry.

“Painting is not a means to an end but a medium through which I can freely consider how producing new images in the world can potentially operate and stimulate how we think about communicative structures.”

Spatial Patterns is a dance performance inspired by and performed alongside How Objects Move Through Walls an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by artist Caroline Kent.
